Description
A quick and delicious twist on pizza! A pizzadilla combines the crispy texture of a quesadilla with all your favorite pizza toppings. Perfect for a snack, lunch, or dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large flour tortillas
- ½ cup pizza sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup pepperoni slices (or preferred toppings)
- ¼ cup sliced bell peppers (optional)
- ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter (for the skillet)
- Optional: Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Prep the skillet: Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Assemble the pizzadilla: Place one tortilla in the skillet. Spread pizza sauce evenly over the surface. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and arrange pepperoni and toppings on top.
- Add second tortilla: Place the second tortilla over the toppings to sandwich them. Press down gently.
- Cook: Let the pizzadilla cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottom is golden brown. Flip carefully and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes until crispy and the cheese melts.
- Slice & serve: Remove from the skillet, slice into wedges, and garnish with Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, or fresh basil if desired.
Notes
- You can customize the fillings: use mushrooms, cooked sausage, or any leftover veggies.
- Use whole wheat tortillas for a healthier alternative.
- Serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping!
