Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
- 1 cup cooked sausage (crumbled)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 3/4 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder (if using).
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the sausage and cheese, mixing until evenly distributed.
- Add milk and gently stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and pat it down to about 1-inch thickness. Use a biscuit cutter or a glass to cut out biscuits.
- Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet, spaced about 1 inch apart.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use sharp cheddar cheese.
- You can substitute the sausage for other proteins like bacon or turkey sausage if preferred.
- Make sure the butter is cold for flaky biscuits.
- You can freeze the unbaked biscuits and bake them from frozen. Just add a few extra minutes to the baking time.
